January Jams

Like most people, every year I make resolutions. Sometimes I set unrealistic goals for myself. I have started a million projects, and finished few. NOT THIS YEAR. One of my resolutions/goals this year is to listen to 365 albums. Music makes me happy. I am definitely that person that will burst into dance. And I absolutely love the joy and energy that dancing to music brings me.

So once I decided I was going to do this, I had to figure out where to start. How will I organize myself to listen to 365 albums!? I started January with low-hanging fruit. Alphabetical. The first week. AMAZING. I was enjoying taking my dance breaks. Once the quarter started, it became a chore. Seriously though. How fucking long was January?! It felt like an eternity. BUT I STUCK WITH IT BECAUSE ALPHABETICAL WAS EASY! Except for Z -- I will definitely not be listening to that album again anytime soon or in the foreseeable future, tbh. And towards the end of the month I really needed energy. Even if I was no longer taking dance breaks, listening to music gave me energy.

At one point I felt like I should document this by artist and album. So I wouldn't end up listening to the same albums. But also obviously so I could make a spreadsheet. But then I thought, why not blog about it!? I loved making mix cds. So why not share a playlist of what I am listening to!? It does feel like it's yet another thing that I am giving myself to do. But I want to document what I listen to! And share it! Because it gives me energy! And sometimes we all just need good energy.

So here is my January playlist. xx
